This Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon out of the Maule Valley shows a lot of character for the money. Very New World with sweet blackberry and dark cassis fruit, it’s touched up nicely with some herbal and earth tones that support and shade rather than dominate. Good fruit purity comes forth in its medium to medium fuller frame, showing well integrated French oak sweetness that gets soaked up nicely by the fruits density. Riper, fine grained tannins and a dry cast to the finish wraps everything into a nice package that speaks highly of a tremendous value. A solid Cabernet that if it had a different appellation on its label would cost a lot more; this delivers the goods at a more than reasonable price.
