Wine Advocate: Issue 180, December 2008
The NV Champagne Brut Reserve is a wine that literally sparkles on the palate, showing superb clarity and precision, particularly at this level. Figs, quince, pears and spices are just some of the aromas and flavors to be found in this focused, medium-bodied Champagne. Perfumed, minerally notes add complexity to the finish. The September, 2007 disgorgement is a blend of three vintages; 2004 (50%), 2003 (25%) and 2002 (25%). This is a wonderful effort from Billiot, and the wine seems to have enough going for it to continue to develop positively in bottle for several years.
