Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba

Product description

The newest expression to join the A’bunadh family is Aberlour A’bunadh Alba (pronounced a-boone-ack alba). Alba means white, as in Quercus alba, American white oak. It is also used to refer to Scotland. The name can be translated into “the Scottish original” or a variant of that.

A’bunadh Alba offers distinctive green fruit notes of sweet baked apple and pepper along with fresh citrus zest, matured in Bourbon oak barrels, batch no 4.

The color is a light gold. On the nose, it is sweet, with a pronounced aroma of ripe red apples. There is also some pear, some floral notes along with honey, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.

On the palate, the whisky is sweet. There is a pronounced alcohol burn, along with a bitter note and a sharp pepperiness that builds quickly. As the whisky opens up elements of citrus zest, cinnamon and dried apple emerge. The whisky is smooth, with a creamy, oily texture and an obvious palate weight.

The finish is long, sweet, with a pronounced pepperiness.
