The 2005 Syrah Hill Climber Pilgrimage Vineyard exhibits a similar opaque ruby/purple color as well as a tightly knit, but promising bouquet of spring flowers, black fruits, and damp earth. The vintage's structure, tannin, and good acids provide a tighter, more austere mouthfeel. While it has plenty of potential, it needs another year or two of bottle age, and should last for 10-15 years.
